🍋 Common Sorrel

 

(Rumex acetosa)

 

Bright, lemony, and absolutely zingy—Common Sorrel is the tangy hero of the wild food world. The young leaves pack a citrus punch perfect for soups, salads, pestos, and anything that needs a bit of botanical bite.

 

👉 Sow some zing with Common Sorrel

 

Ingredients:

• 1 handful Common Sorrel

• 1 handful fresh basil

• Olive oil (about 4 tbsp)

• 2 tbsp grated Parmesan

• 1 tbsp pine nuts or sunflower seeds

• 1 small garlic clove

• Salt & lemon to taste


Method:

1. Blitz everything in a blender until smooth.

2. Taste and adjust with extra lemon or salt.

3. Store in a jar for up to a week.


Serving Tip: Use on pasta, swirl on soup, or spread on everything.
