Timothy forms the backbone of the mixture, producing a naturally palatable pasture that is slower growing than ryegrass-based leys. Meadow fescue and smooth-stalked meadowgrass contribute resilience, while strong creeping red fescue and Chewings fescue create a dense sward capable of recovering from everyday hoof traffic. A carefully selected blend of grazing herbs adds diversity and encourages a more natural pasture.

Best sowing time: March to May, or August to September

Sowing depth: No deeper than approximately 1 cm
For new paddocks, remove perennial weeds before cultivating a fine, firm seedbed. Sow evenly before rolling or firming the surface to maximise seed-to-soil contact.
