Courgette Nero Di Milano is a classic Italian courgette with dark green, glossy fruits and a soft, mild flavour. It is brilliant grilled, roasted, fried, shaved into salads or thrown into pasta. A proper summer vegetable, easy to grow, fast to crop and generous once it gets going.

Sow one seed per small pot and keep somewhere warm. Plant outside once the seedlings are strong and the weather has settled.
These measurements are only a guide. Growing is not an exact science, so do not worry if every seed is not perfectly placed.
Grower tip: Give each plant plenty of room and pick the fruits while they are still young. Regular harvesting encourages the plant to keep producing.
Courgettes like sun, warmth and rich soil. Water regularly, especially once fruits begin forming. Feed every week or two with a general vegetable feed once the plant starts flowering. Pick fruits
often to keep the plant producing.
Courgettes can grow in large pots, but they need space. Use one plant per large container, ideally 40 cm wide or more. Use good compost, keep it well watered and place it somewhere sunny andsheltered.
Harvest from July onwards, once the courgettes are around 10 cm to 15 cm long. Smaller courgettes are usually sweeter and more tender. Keep picking regularly and the plant should continue cropping through summer.
