Pond Edge 100% Wildflower Seed Mix
Regular price
£20.99

A mix for pond sides, stream edges and gardens that squelch back. Pond Edge brings together moisture loving wildflowers, rushes and sedges for wet ground that ordinary mixes would rather avoid.
It is lush, unruly and excellent for wildlife. Shrek would approve.
This is a 100% wildflower mix.
Wildflowers included:
When to sow
For best results, sow from March to May or August to October.
Where to sow
Sow on consistently damp soil beside ponds, streams or wet areas. Do not sow directly into standing water.
How to sow
Remove existing grass and weeds to expose bare soil. Lightly rake the surface, scatter the seed evenly, then gently press or tread it into the soil. Do not bury the seed deeply.
Sowing rate
3 g per m².
Measurements and timings are only a guide. Growing is not an exact science, so do not worry if everything is not perfectly placed.
Keep the area moist while seedlings establish. Remove aggressive weeds and do not feed. Cut back after flowering
where practical.
Flowering
Late spring through late summer.
Height
Approximately 30 cm to 1.5 metres.
What to expect
Many wetland species are perennial and may take time to mature. The display should become taller, fuller and more wildlife rich over several years.
Wildlife value
The flowers provide pollen and nectar for bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other visiting insects.
We want your seeds to grow. If you follow our sowing instructions, give them a fair chance, and they still do not grow, we’ll put it right.
Eligible customers can choose either a refund for the seeds that did not grow, or replacement seeds of the same value.
