When to sow a meadow?
The best time to sow wildflower seeds? Spring and autumn. You can be more specific with early-mid spring and early autumn traditionally being the ideal times for planting a wildflower meadow, however, it is weather dependent. For example, when you have a hot and sunny September, like this year, the ideal sowing period is prolonged and seeds can be scattered right through October.
It is important, however, not to get too fixated on the period that one is sowing, as soil prep is just as crucial. If you can prepare the area well for a spring or autumn sowing you will maximise your chances of a beautiful bloom, more so than trying to time your sowing perfectly.
