Pond Edge 80/20% Wildflower Meadow Mix
Regular price
£14.99

Own a bog? A pond edge? A suspiciously soggy patch that eats ordinary plants for breakfast? You are among friends.
This wetland meadow mix combines moisture loving flowers, rushes, sedges and grasses to turn damp ground into a lively habitat rather than a muddy apology.
This is a 80% wildflowers and 20% grasses mix.
Wildflowers included:
Grasses included:
When to sow
For best results, sow from March to May or August to October.
Where to sow
Sow beside ponds, streams or on consistently damp ground with sun or partial shade. Do not sow into standing water.
How to sow
Remove existing grass and weeds to expose bare soil. Lightly rake the surface, scatter the seed evenly, then gently press or tread it into the soil. Do not bury the seed deeply.
Sowing rate
5 g per m².
Measurements and timings are only a guide. Growing is not an exact science, so do not worry if everything is not perfectly placed.
Keep the ground moist while seedlings establish. Remove aggressive weeds and avoid fertiliser. Cut back after
flowering where practical and remove the cuttings.
Flowering
Generally late spring through late summer.
Height
Approximately 30 cm to 1.5 metres, depending on conditions.
What to expect
Moisture loving perennials can take time to mature, but should create a taller, lush and wildlife rich display over several seasons.
Wildlife value
The flowers provide pollen and nectar for bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other visiting insects.
We want your seeds to grow. If you follow our sowing instructions, give them a fair chance, and they still do not grow, we’ll put it right.
Eligible customers can choose either a refund for the seeds that did not grow, or replacement seeds of the same value.
