Blue Bloom Martini

Cornflower

(Centaurea cyanus)

Bright blue, peppery, and basically edible confetti. These petals are mild in flavour but mighty in looks. Use them like you use parsley—but prettier.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml gin
  • 20ml dry vermouth
  • 1 tsp Cornflower syrup (make like chamomile syrup)
  • Ice
  • Petals for garnish

Method:

  1. Shake gin, vermouth, and syrup with ice.
  2. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  3. Float Cornflower petals on top like a botanical Bond villain.
